Bump in MBTA parking fees to further squeeze commuters

As though the weather won't be enough of a challenge, many commuters will face a new test this winter: Trying to squeeze four rolled-up dollar bills through a narrow slot to pay for their parking.

Starting Nov. 15, rates will rise by $2 in all MBTA parking facilities: to $3 at ferry lots, $4 in open railway lots, and $7 in garages like those in Braintree and Quincy. The increase is a major part of an MBTA plan to raise more than $50 million in back pay owed to workers through a recent contract settlement. (Boston.com-Full Story)
