Troubled Library Catches a Break
State lawmakers have given Saugus a major incentive to increase funding for the town's public library.
The recently approved state environmental bond authorizes the state to provide Saugus with $3 million to support environmentally related capital projects in the schools. But there's a catch: The town's legislative delegation, which secured the authorization, included language that would allow Saugus to receive the "green schools" grant only if its public library is recertified.
