A man trespassing on the Blue Line right of way was struck and killed by a train as it was about to enter Revere Beach station this morning, the MBTA said.
The accident happened shortly after 10:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the tracks, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said in a statement. The victim was a 54-year-old Winthrop man.
Bus service replaced train service between Orient Heights and Wonderland while MBTA Transit Police investigated. The police are being joined in the probe by the district attorney's office.
Regular Blue Line service was resuming at midday, Pesaturo said.
