Revere robbery suspect turns self in after victim dragged across parking lot

SAUGUS - A Revere man planned to turn himself into police Friday after he allegedly robbed a man then dragged him with his vehicle through the parking lot of Home Depot.

Michael Anzilotti, 39, of 417 Revere Beach Parkway, was identified in the police log as the suspect.

Police say a 61-year-old Saugus man saw Anzilotti stealing tools from his truck as he exited Home Depot at about 9:45 a.m. Friday.

The victim tried to detain the suspect until police arrived, but Anzilotti allegedly jumped into a Toyota Highlander and dragged the victim through the Route 1 parking lot, police said.

The victim reported being injured but refused medical treatment at the scene. He later drove himself to Salem Hospital, police said.

Police say Anzilotti was identified as the suspect after a brief investigation and learned he was wanted by Chelsea police for conducting a similar theft at the Home Depot parking lot in that city. Anzilotti was expected to turn himself in to police to face charges Friday, according to the police log.
