REVERE - Police are investigating who stole a $2,700 metal gospel cover from the altar of Immaculate Conception Church on Beach Street earlier this month.On Feb. 6, Father George Szal noticed the metal and gold silver plate missing, police said. Church members tried looking for the object to no avail.
Szal told police he even contacted local pawn shops but had no luck, police said.
The church hopes insurance will cover the loss, according to police.
