Word from the Revere Journal is that this years competition may be moving to Lynn Beach.
Sixteen sculptors from across the country, Canada and the Netherlands competed last year for a total of $15,000 in prize money.
After days of hard, gritty work, Carl Jara, of Cleveland, won last year's contest, making him the sand sculpting champ two years in a row.
In year's past, the festival has attracted nearly 250,000 spectators.
