If you were at Nicole's wedding, in Nicole's wedding, or at any of the wedding celebrations, you would have met her friend, Sarah, who was one of the bridesmaids.

Sarah's sister, Susan, was recently selected as the Photographer of the Week on Boston.com.

I just couldn't let you read it from the Lynn Item's site. Too many typos.

One man in critical condition after pair shot in Revere
By Thor Jourgensen / The Daily Item

REVERE - Two gunshot victims are in the hospital following a 2 a.m. shooting across from City Hall.

A police spokesman said, "We are not actively looking for a suspect."

Police responded to multiple reports of gunshots at 10 Yeamans St. at the corner of Broadway. They entered an open apartment at that address, found it empty then found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest approximately a block a way on Reservoir Avenue.

Police declined to identify the 40-year-old man who is listed in critical condition at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

A short time after finding the first shooting victim officials from Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett called Revere Police to report a second gunshot victim.

Revere Police Sgt. Jeffrey Langone said officers interviewed the 25-year-old man in the hospital but he refused to answer any questions.
The second victim was shot in the back. At this time, his condition is unknown.

Police did not say if the two men lived in the apartment on Yeamans Street but said they are investigating the shooting and interviewing witnesses.

Police have responded to the building in the past but declined to comment on whether the two individuals have a history with the department.

Something I didn't know...

Today is United Nations Day. United Nations Day was proclaimed in 1948 by the United Nations General Assembly, it is held annually on October 24th, the anniversary of the coming into force of the UN Charter on the same day in 1945.

United Nations Day is devoted to making known to people of the world the aims and achievements of the United Nations Organization.

Who knew?

Warm hands, warm & fuzzy feelings?

Research by Yale University reveals that holding a warm beverage in your hands gives you warm feelings towards the people you are with and holding a cold beverage has the opposite effect. This research is to be released in the Journal of Science today.

Does this mean that more people hook up in coffee shops than in bars?
How long and how much do you think this research cost?
Should I be nuking my cosmo instead of shaking it with ice?
Or should I just go for the coffee with sambucca?
I'll have to do some research of my own on this one.

A drunk is sitting in a bar...

There is a very buxom blonde a few seats down from him with breasts size 44DD'S.

A fellow at the end of the bar calls for a beer. The bartender fills the mug and slides it down the bar. It hits the lady's breasts and spills all over them. The bartender goes over, retrieves the mug and licks the beer off of her breasts.

This happens a couple more times.

The next time, the drunk jumps up and starts to lick her breasts.
She decks him!
He's laying on the floor moaning and groaning.

'Why do you let the bartender do it?'

'Because he has a Licker License.’

Eleventh Hour

Caught this new show last night which is a remake of a British television show by the same name. The British version stars Patrick Stewart of Star Trek: Next Generation fame (the skinny, bald guy).

The US version stars Rufus Sewell. He was Kate Winslet's love interest prior to meeting Jack Black in the movie The Holiday, with Cameron Diaz and Jude Law. I thought he was cross-eyed in that movie, and there appears to be something going on with his right eye in the photo, but he doesn't look that way in the series. Sewell also appeared in The Illusionist as the Crowned Prince Leopold who was supposed to marry Jessica Biel until the illusionist, and former love, Ed Norton came back into her life. I actually couldn't believe that Biel picked Norton over Sewell in that movie. They should have cast someone else in Norton's role to make it believable, or just had Sewell and Norton switch roles.

In this new series, Sewall plays Dr. Hood, a biophysicist and Special Science Advisor to the FBI. Last nights episode was a cross between CSI and House, but not as great as either series. Nice looking guy, love his voice, alright actor, I'd jump his bones, but I don't think the series is gonna make it.

Football & World Series

Has Brady been hit in the head so many times that he doesn't know that the best medical care he could have received was right here in Boston and not in California. Someone should be checking out his head and not his knee. Now a septic joint will delay his recovery. He should have picked up the phone, contacted the Celtics and found out who their ortho guy is. That's what my husband did when he needed his knee done. Lucky for Tom he still has his modeling career to fall back on.

World Series Game 2: Tampa Bay beat Philly 4-2. The series is now even 1-1. The only person I can think of that would actually care is my nephew Nicky. He just loves the sport. Loves to play and watch. I hope you're enjoying it, Nick.

The 2008 Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra

Has anyone seen this year's Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra by Victoria's Secret?

I'm beginning to wonder why Victoria's Secret comes out with these bras. Our 401K's are in the toilet, our house values have depreciated to new lows, and Victoria's Secret comes out with a 5 million dollar miracle bra. The miracle is that anyone can afford it and not that it pushes your boobs up for a sexier look. How many women do you think who have previous years Fantasy Bra's are now cashing them in? It was probably a better investment than stock or mutual funds, now that I think of it.

Foolish me, if I could afford the bra in the first place I wouldn't have to worry about my 401K performance.

As much as I'd like to, it's not something that will be on my Christmas list this year.

What's going on?

I just got thru reading the news and I can't believe some of the stories today.

Do you remember Bob Gamere from Candlepins for Cash? He was arrested today on federal charges of transporting and possessing child pornography. I heard some wild stories about this guys drinking days, but nothing like this.

Then a 39 year old former 'RKO talk show host, Reese Hopkins, was arrested at his home in Malden for raping a 12 year old girl 4 years ago in New York City.

Closer to home, a Level 3 sex offender convicted twice of raping a child was arrested near his Jones Road home Monday for luring his neighbor's 11-year-old son into the back of his car. You really have to read that story to believe it. This all happened in the presence of the police and his mother.

I knew the news wouldn't get any better when I opened a news alert from yesterday in my email this morning telling me of a lockdown of schools in Newburyport because of a man reported in the area with a handgun. You don't hear of this kind of stuff in a community like Newburyport, ever.

There was some good news for adopted kids. Seems they're entitled to free tuition and the state doesn't think it's getting the word out to eligible adoptees. You mean I could have my sister adopt my daughter and the state will pay for her college education? Not a bad deal. Maybe I'll adopt one of my neices.

I think it's time to leave the state.
I'm going to watch CSI...maybe I'll move to Vegas.

The Sun moved into Scorpio yesterday

Now, why do you think I'd be interested in that? Seems I know a lot of Scorpio's. Got this in an email and thought it was an interesting read.

All about Scorpio
Of all that's ever been written about Scorpio over the years, much of it -- no, most of it -- has been unfair, negative and worded so that those born under this Sun sign sound downright intimidating. It's as if simply getting to know them requires superhuman courage and a fully armed bodyguard. Well, we're about to put an end to all that nonsense. It's true that Scorpios are not for the faint of heart. They're not shallow, they won't be manipulated and they will never, ever 'settle' for less than what they really want. In the Scorpio mind, 'settling' equates with giving up -- and that's something else they'd never, ever do. Scorpios won't stop working toward a goal until they're convinced that it's impossible -- which takes some doing.

Even when they're not on a mission, Scorpios are still undoubtedly sniffing out clues. They're born detectives who are always on duty, analysts who never stop digging for answers, and investigators who are perpetually in search of information. A mystery is an invitation to these folks; what's below the surface is simply irresistible.

And speaking of irresistible, if you're attracted to a Scorpio and vice versa, whether it's been 24 years or 24 hours, rest assured that they'll never cease to amaze, astound and startle you. Just when you think you've got them all figured out (although you likely stopped laboring under that illusion shortly after you two met), they'll say or do something that will cause you to find them even more fascinating. They're loyal to a fault -- but maybe just a bit too jealous at times, so don't play games with that emotion -- and perfectly willing to fire walk for you. And whether or not you opt to make the relationship legal, 'until death do us part' will always apply. Their love will literally last forever.

Pumpkin Carving

Received this from my sister Carolyn. I hate these sites. You go to them and 3 hours later you realize you've been carving pumpkins all day. Nice practice for Halloween. Have fun! :)

When you get to the site, click on the screen and the blue knife will appear. Use the little blue knife to carve your pumpkin, then press done when you've finished.

What side of the car is the gas tank on?

I got this email from Patti, but have received it in the past. I didn't realize how many people didn't know this, then again I'm around cars all the time. This does not apply to certain makes and older model cars, but for the most part, it will work for you.I have been driving for nearly 30 years... I would think I should have noticed the little secret on my dashboard that was staring me in the face the whole time...I didn't...and I bet you didn't either.

Have you ever rented or borrowed a car and when arriving at the gas station wondered...mmm, which side is the gas filler cap? My normal solution was to stick my head out the window, strain my neck and look, try to see in the side mirrors or even get out of the car! Well ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to share with you my little secret so you will no longer look like Ace Ventura on your way to the gas station or put your neck at risk of discomfort or injury.

If you look at your gas gauge, you will see a small icon of a gas pump which will tell you which side it’s on. Sometimes, it’s as simple as that.

World Series Game 1: Philly beats Rays 3-2

Yes, the World Series goes on without the Boston Red Sox. So now the question is do we root for the American League to win? or do we get spiteful and side with Phillie? or do we forget about baseball altogether and go on to football?

Chase Utley steals second and America gets free Tacos today from 2PM to 6PM. Taco Bell continues their Steal a Base, Steal a Taco campaign. I wouldn't dream of going but I know that Taryn, Kasey & Lynda have gone in the past. Have fun ladies if you decide to go.

First Official Game; First Official Win

Debbie & Paul's grandsons, Brady & Ryan, have played their first organized hockey game and their team won with a great score of 8 to 5. We will keep you updated on their progress as the season continues. I'm told Brady & Ryan are in the bottom right hand corner of the picture. Doesn't matter, they all look so cute in their uniforms.

Getting Started

I thought rather than send out a ton of emails with a long list of recipients, I'd start a blog to share pics, ideas, news, whatever comes to mind. If it doesn't work, I'll stop, simple as that.

Things like, my brother Sean's birthday was the 20th. And altho I knew it was his birthday, did I get the card in the mail that's been sitting on my nightstand for a month? No. Have I done it yet knowing the date has passed? No. Why? Because I have this thing with getting envelopes and stamps together and then actually getting them into the mailbox. The harder I try, the longer it takes to happen. Sean will get the card, eventually. It may take until Christmas, but he'll get that long awaited birthday greeting. I'm not procrastinating because that would actually take some thought. And I'm not thoughtless, because I think of Sean all the time. I have every intention of sending him his birthday card. Hopefully, prior to the Christmas cards going out!

You might ask why I'm even thinking of this today when I already sent Sean a long winded apology email. Well, I went to the mailbox this morning to mail a wedding response return. What do you think the first thing I thought of was? Where's Sean's card? You guessed it. I didn't have it. But if the Woods happen to peek at this blog, they know that our response to the wedding is in the mail. And it's on time. The only reason it is on time is because the stamp was included on the envelope. Now that would be a unique idea for a greeting card company. Have postage-paid envelopes with your cards. If the people who mailed me bills did that, they'd be sure to be paid on time. Then again, I'd probably misplace the envelope.

So I'll say it again...Sorry, Sean.
The older I get, the worse I am and you know it.
Happy belated Birthday, brother!
