Remembering Farrah Fawcett

Actress, and 70's Sex icon Farrah Fawcett lost her battle with cancer early Thursday morning. She was 62.

Fawcett has family ties to Houston, her father has lived in Southeast Texas for decades.

Thursday, 39 News spoke with two Houstonians who have been longtime counsel, and friends to the late star.

"I'd like people to remember her like I remember her," said Attorney Joe Jamail. "Which is a beautiful person. And never succumbed to all that fame that she had. (She) never forgot her roots."

Jamail worked as an attorney for Fawcett for over 30 years while working from his Downtown Houston offices.

Houston Attorney Kent Schaffer has worked with Farrah Fawcett and her team for 15 years.

"She put up with a lot of pain and suffering, and it just went on too long," Schaffer said of Fawcett's 3-year battle with cancer.

Fawcett's father is said to be leaving Houston for Los Angeles to be with Fawcett's longtime boyfriend and her son.
