The Contract

Finally watched this movie last night with Steven. I've had it for about 2 months from Netflix, or ever since Lynda took my TV to school.

The storyline: A widower, coach, and former policeman, Ray Keene, who lost his wife to cancer 2 years prior, takes his teenage son, Chris Keene, on a camping trip to try to bond with him after he is caught by the police smoking pot. Meanwhile, a mercenary assassin, Frank Carden, is arrested by the FBI after he is involved in a car accident. While Frank is being escorted by three FBI agents, his men try to rescue him, but his car falls into a river and is carried by the drift where Ray & Chris find them. Ray & Chris help the wounded agent and the cuffed Frank leave the river, and after the agent dies, Ray feels responsible to deliver Frank to justice. Frank trys to convince them to leave him there and walk away because his team is looking for him and will get rid of all witnesses. But Ray refuses to listen. Frank's men track them through the woods because Carden is the only one who has the information to the off-shore accounts for their money. While an undercover agent in the team is chasing the group with different lethal intentions.

John Cusack plays Ray Keene, Morgan Freeman plays Frank Carden, and Jamie Anderson plays Chris Keene.

Pretty good movie, different storyline, but with all the guns being shot and people being killed, the only one who shows any real emotion is the actor Jamie Anderson. I looked him up and surprisingly, this is the only thing I could find that he acted in. The strangest concept of this whole film was the only reason Cusack ended up having to bring Freeman in was his son's cellphone didn't work in the forest. However, the merceneries had no problem with their cellphones and one even had his laptop working while hiding in the trees. I wouldn't run out to rent it, wait for it to come to cable.
