Library thief arrested after hitting Melrose, Saugus and other towns

Melrose Police responded to an odd call on Monday, Oct. 20 when Melrose Public Library employees reported they thought a man had a razor blade and was cutting something out of the library’s books.

Police subsequently discovered the man in question has been stealing books from local libraries including Saugus.

When police arrived on scene around 4:30 p.m., they asked Dominic S. Fiore, 61, 277 Bradstreet Ave., Revere, to step outside. After doing so, police found that Fiore had three or four books tucked into his waist, according to Melrose Police Det. Sgt. Barry Campbell. (Saugus Advertiser-Full Story)
