Man Dies After Contracting EEE

BOSTON -- A 73-year-old Newburyport man has died after contracting Eastern equine encephalitis, the victim's family confirmed Tuesday.

William Walsh first developed symptoms on Sept. 21 while on vacation in Maine, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. After several weeks of hospitalization in Maine, he was transferred to a hospital in Massachusetts, and he died Sunday at a nursing home in Newburyport. (BostonChannel.com-Full Story)
